Every February, a romantic comedy is released that is marketed as the perfect Valentine’s Day movie. Last year, it was the ensemble comedy “He’s Just Not That Into You.” This year, the rom-com of choice that women (and some men) everywhere will drag their significant others to is another ensemble film, simply called “Valentine’s Day.”
From veteran romantic comedy director Garry Marshall, “Valentine’s Day” appears similar to “Love Actually” in style, only set in Los Angeles on the titular holiday rather than in London at Christmas. The film explores how the pressures of Valentine’s Day impact couples and singles whose stories intertwine.
Though it likely won’t be quite as good of a film as “Love Actually,” “Valentine’s Day” does look like a cute movie that won’t disappoint moviegoers looking for something light and fun to enjoy this February.
If nothing else, the all-star cast alone is a draw. The ensemble includes Jessica Alba, Jessica Biel, Bradley Cooper, Eric Dane, Patrick Dempsey, Hector Elizondo, Jamie Foxx, Jennifer Garner, Topher Grace, Anne Hathaway, Ashton Kutcher, Queen Latifah, Taylor Lautner, George Lopez, Shirley MacLaine, Emma Roberts, Julia Roberts and Taylor Swift.
“Valentine’s Day” opens Feb. 12.
