Before I start, let’s take a look at who is playing the A-Team. Liam Neeson is Col. John “Hannibal” Smith, Bradley Cooper is Lt. Templeton “Faceman” Peck, Quinton “Rampage” Jackson is Sgt. B.A. “Bad Attitude” Baracus, and Sharlto Copley is Capt. H.M. “Howling Mad” Murdock. In my opinion, I’m looking at the absolute best possible combination of actors and after watching the trailer, it just reiterated that feeling. Jessica Biel also is in the film as Lt. Carissa Sosa, which is another great choice.
These men are a group of Iraq War veterans looking to clear their name with the U.S. military, who suspect the four of them of committing a crime for which they were framed. The trailer starts off by showing us them breaking out of prison … well, actually, on their way to the prison, I mean they are the A-Team after all. Anyway, after a pretty cool escape, we get to see just how well these actors meld together and also some fairly big action scenes.
Before I watched the trailer, I was wondering why they would put a UFC fighter into the mix of some really good actors. Then, I was thinking back to a show called “The Ultimate Fighter” and while Rampage was on that show he was a coach and had a chance throughout the show to show us how funny he is. Anyone who watched the show will know exactly what I’m talking about. He said the funniest things during his commentary and now I know it was a fantastic choice for the film and the trailer just showcases the comedic power he has.
Joe Carnahan is the writer-director and, when this film comes out on June 11, I think it will blow people away and be a fantastic movie to help start the summer blockbusters.
