Fan-Made Promos for The Dark Knight Rises

— by ANDY BEHBAKHT —

The shooting of Christopher Nolan’s final story in his Batman trilogy, “The Dark Knight Rises,” has wrapped production in India and now shooting somewhere in England, so hopefully we’ll have some nice clips or photos available soon.

While we wait, though, the fans have filled in admirably and given us clips and photos that show us what the movie could look like.

We’ll start with the photo to the left of Anne Hathaway in her Catwoman gear. The art is by JoshMC and is on display at Fan Art Exhibit.

Here is what the art’s creator says about his version of the catsuit:

We officially have a Catwoman now, what will she look like? Who knows, depends on which way Nolan decides to go, I’ve based this concept off the burglar/thief versions of the character, Anne probably won’t look anything like this on screen, but it gives us an idea.

Check out more of JoshMC’s art at the site. You may recognize some of it, as his stuff often gets used by articles to show characters where no stills have been released (his early renditions of Ryan Reynolds as Green Lantern were everywhere and his versions of Wonder Woman as played by Cobie Smulders were leagues better than the costume created for the NBC pilot of the TV show).

And below, you can see a well-made trailer for the film by YouTube user Solyentbrak1 created from a variety of different sources.

I have seen many fan trailers for this movie, and this one is definitely one of my favorites. There are several questions that keep popping up in my head while watching this trailer, including whether Tom Hardy’s Bane will look anything like the version from the comics, whether Anne Hathaway’s Selina Kyle actually will be Catwoman and, if so, what will the costume look like.

Hopefully, Nolan — the most secretive film-maker there is — will reveal something in the coming months about what he will do with these characters and also, perhaps, tell us a bit about the actual plot.

“The Dark Knight Rises” hits theaters on July 20, 2012. In the meantime, have you seen any other fan-made promo material for the movie worth checking out?

Ugh. Fan trailers are the worst. How did this person manage to make Batman boring?
