When I was growing up, we couldn’t even mention the word “Christmas” in our house until Thanksgiving. As kids, we didn’t understand the rule — Christmas was fantastic and should be celebrated nearly year-round. In fact, to me the unofficial start of Christmas season was Sept. 24, the day after my birthday.
Now, as an adult, I completely understand the reasoning for the rule. And things have gotten even worse. Every year, desperate retailers move the unofficial Christmas season up even earlier. Now, it is no longer unusual to see decorations for sale at stores before Halloween.
So, in case you haven’t gotten into the holiday mood yet, here is the music video for “Deck the Halls” as performed by Debby Ryan. The song appears in the movie “Santa Paws — The Search For Santa Paws.”
The movie — which stars Zachary Gordon, Danny Woodburn, Richard Kind — will be released Nov. 23 on Disney Blu-ray Combo Pack, DVD and Download.
