Poster Peek: ‘Dear John’

A poster has been released for the film “Dear John,” starring Channing Tatum (of “G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra” and “Public Enemies”), Amanda Seyfried (of “Momma Mia”) and Henry Thomas (of “E.T.”).

Lasse Hallström (of “Cider House Rules”) directed the film, which is the latest adaptation of a novel by best-selling author Nicholas Sparks. Sparks’ other novels successfully translated to film include “Nights in Rodanthe,” “The Notebook” and “Message in a Bottle.” The screenplay was written by Jamie Linden.

The tagline for the film asks: “Is Duty enough reason to live a lie?” The movie is described as: A romantic drama about a soldier who falls for a conservative college student while he’s home on leave.

Expect to see “Dear John” on movies screens Feb 5, 2010.

    I look forward to this movie.
    Since I am a conservative I can;t wait to take my wife to see this film.

    I loved GI Joe, it has to be one of the best movies that I have seen in a few years!

    Channing Tatum was not in Public Enemies. It looks like the generic romantic comedy that just rides out on Tatum’s box-office success.

    Yes, Channing Tatum was in “Public Enemies.” He played “Pretty Boy” Floyd.
