Poster Peek: ‘The Invention of Lying’

Any current list of nominess for “Funniest Man Alive” has to include Ricky Gervais. The British comedian has yet to misfire and his upcoming comedy, “The Invention of Lying,” looks like another gem.

Joining Gervais — who stars, co-writes and co-directs — are Jennifer Garner, Tina Fey, Rob Lowe and Jonah Hill. But you can see that it the poster. Not shown in the poster are his other top co-stars, including Patrick Stewart, Jason Bateman and Christopher Guest.

Matthew Robinson, who is the movie’s co-writer and director, has a blog about the movie available at

The poster itself it nothing special, but I’m up for whatever Gervais is doing these days, and the star-studded supporting cast is a great bonus. And that, my friends, is no lie.

“The Invention of Lying” is due in theaters Oct. 2.

I like the fall movies. You start getting fun stuff like this instead of all the loud non-ending action stuff the summer is filled with.

I so like to laugh when I see a movie and this looks like it could be good for a lot of laughs. Another plus, I really like several of the stars.

Gervais is the man. I loved The Office.

The supporting cast alone makes this worth a rental. I guess I’m going to have to pull up the trailer now.

A little too high concept, but I’m sure I’ll see it for Ricky Gervais.

I think I remember hearing something about this. It looks like it could be good. Rob Lowe is easy on the eyes too.
