Fede Alvarez is from Uruguay and is the great mind behind this short film. For me, I really enjoy watching short films, since my friends and I even enjoy making a short here and there. It is a fun process and all the while you are learning the ins and outs of the industry.
These short films inspire. They are, for the most part, enjoyable to watch; and they can be a fantastic stepping stone into an industry that is already full of talented people.
Fede Alvarez created a one-of-a-kind film by only spending a few hundred dollars. The film — a YouTube sensation — is about robots attacking Earth and, might I add, not ending well for the fate of humanity “which is always fun to watch.” There is sparse dialogue throughout, but while I was watching “Panic Attack,” I was glued to the screen; the special effects were extremely professional and the film was well-edited.
Adding on to what I said before about short films potentially being a great stepping stone, this is the perfect example. Fede Alvarez is now a part of Sam Raimi’s company Ghost House. Alvarez now gets to develop and direct an original genre project with them (and also receives a great paycheck). For all of you aspiring film makers out there, keep doing what you are doing — because you just never know who’s watching.

Wow! That was awesome!
^ It really is. It would be cool on any budget, but for the money he spent, it is astonishing.
Pretty freaking cool.Someone should give this dude 3 million and let him do what he do.
Very cool.
Very cool film. Isn’t that the score from 28 Weeks Later?
