Three Clips from ‘Shrek Forever After’

— by JOSUE SANCHEZ —

Three-dimensional movies are so popular right now. Yet, there are mixed feelings about it coming in from the different crowds; some people love it, while others seem to hate it. I personally have loved 3D all my life and was always saddened by the lack of available 3D movies and merchandise while I was growing up. So, you can imagine my excitement now that 3D has become so popular and so many movies are now enjoying the 3D treatment. This is also why I never imagined that so many people would be as critical about 3D as I have been reading lately. Originally, I mostly enjoyed 3D when I visited theme parks like Universal Studios and Disney World. One fun ride was “Shrek 3D.” It was an 11-minute or so ride, and for this one, they brought back the entire cast of the first movie and turned it into a fun 3D adventure. I loved it.

“Shrek” was an enjoyable movie that made me laugh out loud. It had lots of double entendres; so both parents and their kids could enjoy it. I watched it a couple of times in the theaters and was happy when it got a sequel. The second one was fun as well and raised the stakes higher. The jokes where raunchier, and the action was heavier. But, I kept laughing and laughing. Later came the second sequel and I kept laughing, although this one was not as funny. “Shrek the Third” did have great moments that I enjoyed, but I definitely thought it would be the last one. Still, it became an event for me and my friends. We always got a big group to watch them on the big screen and when it was out on DVD or Blu-ray. “Shrek” is a crowd pleaser.

This brings us to “Shrek Forever After,” the third sequel to “Shrek.” It’s Just Movies has a review of it here. It brings back the whole gang again: Shrek (Mike Myers), Fiona (Cameron Diaz), Donkey (Eddie Murphy) and Puss in boots (Antonio Banderas), yet there are some new characters.

But if you are as excited as I am to watch it, and can’t wait for May 21 to get here, these three fun clips should hold you till then. From the first clip, captioned “Enter Fiona,” where you are immediately immersed into the alternate universe plot of the movie, to the last clip, captioned “Waffles, you will enjoy various funny parts of the movie without it giving away too much of the plot.

“Shrek Forever After” will be released this Friday, May 21.

The biggest problem with 3d is that it makes some people nauseous.
