“13” is based on the Swedish movie “13 Tzameti” and like its predecessor, it too has all the makings of a great action packed thriller. Think “Dirty Dozen” meets “Ocean 11.”
It’s the kind of movie that is sure to keep your heart pumping as you wait to see how all the twists and turns unravel and just who ends up winning this high-stakes game. The movie boast a cast that is sure to bring moviegoers running, with the likes of Jason Statham (star of such action movies as “The Expendables” and “The Transporter” series), Alexander Skarsgard (of “True Blood” fame), Mickey Rourke (best known recently for “The Wrestler” and “Iron Man 2”), Emmanuelle Chriqui (of “Entourage” and “The Borgias”). The cast also includes rapper/actor Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, Michael Shannon and British imports Ray Winston and Sam Riley.
As we see from this trailer Vince (Riley) is a desperate and naive young man who assumes a dead man’s identity to falsely enter a high-stakes underground world of Russian Roulette. He quickly finds himself embroiled in a world where the name of the game is power. Wealthy men gamble behind closed doors on the lives of other men. They pick a number and wait to see if their shooter lives or dies as he takes aim at another, armed with nothing more than a bullet in the chamber. In the trailer, we also get an inkling that rest of the players circling this deadly game have more then just the $3 million payoff on their minds.
Originally released internationally, be sure to catch it on DVD/Blu-ray come Nov. 8.
