There are some days when nothing goes right from the first minute you step out of bed and all you want to do is crawl back inside it. For the characters in “Bait,” this is one of those days.
When a group of shoppers at an underground store are caught up in a robbery, a huge freak tsunami hits and swallows the town. While they are fighting to not get trapped underground as the water rises and threatens to trap them, they soon discover they are not alone.
The day has been bad — but it’s about to get a lot worse when they see packs of hungry tiger sharks within their midst.
Writer Russell Mulcahy and director Kimble Rendall seem to tie three fears into one horrific day that only the strong and creative will survive.
“Bait” — which is due to open in theatres Sept. 1 — stars Sharni Vinson, Julian McMahon and Xavier Samuel.
