Trailer Talk: ‘How to Train Your Dragon’

— by ALEXA MILAN —

Though they might not be up to the artistic standards of Pixar, there’s no denying that Dreamworks animation films also rake in the box office gold. The studio’s latest film, “How to Train Your Dragon,” will likely be no exception.

Jay Baruchel voices Hiccup, a young Viking who doesn’t quite fit in with the rest of his tribe. In his society, fighting dragons is an everyday practice. When Hiccup begins his dragon training, he may finally get the chance to prove himself. But when he befriends a dragon he’s supposed to kill, he sets out to change his village’s views on the misunderstood creatures.

Based on the trailer, “How to Train Your Dragon” looks like a pretty cute movie that will definitely appeal to the same family crowd as “Shrek” and “Kung Fu Panda,” two of Dreamworks’ most successful animated films.

“How to Train Your Dragon” hits theaters March 26 and also features the voice talent of Gerard Butler, America Ferrera, Kristen Wiig, Craig Ferguson, Jonah Hill and Christopher Mintz-Plasse.

I have to say, the movie just doesn’t look like it’s all that much fun. I didn’t even smile once during the entire trailer.
