If you loved the movies “Captain America: The First Avenger,” “Thor,” and “Iron Man,” then the word “love” will not be enough for what you are about to see — the first teaser trailer for Marvel Comics’ biggest movie ever.
While I know that Earth won’t go under in 2012, I know that the fanboy within me won’t be able to survive all the coming movies next year and “The Avengers” is definitely something that I know will make me geek out. It’s so nice to finally see some footage that is not taken by a lousy camera.
The glimpses of the humoristic Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) were enough for me to already starting cracking up; it also gives you a feeling that not only will the movie contain action but also humor, which for me is a big plus.
But there is one important reason why this trailer is already hyping me up — these are some of the best assembled comic book characters in Marvel universe and they have been able to make these characters look and fit in so well in live action. That has always been something imperative to most comic book fans out there: to make the character truly come alive. It was also nice to finally see some glimpses of the Hulk (Mark Ruffalo), and it looks very much like the version of the Hulk in “The Incredible Hulk,” which was definitely the better of the two Hulk movies. I’m looking forward to seeing what Ruffalo will bring to the table as Banner/Hulk.
While it was fast, we saw the first tease of the Hellcarrier and also while we didn’t actually see it, we know that there will be more evil for the heroes to fight aside from Loki (Tom Hiddleston). Overall, we saw some great action by all the heroes and while it’s amazing seeing what Marvel Studios, along with extraordinary director Joss Whedon, has produced – it makes me frustrated that Warner Bros./DC Comics haven’t brought their team, the Justice League, to life yet and all that we have have is basically that “it’s in development.” I want less talk and more action on that front.
“The Avengers” — starring Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Samuel L. Jackson, Jeremy Renner, Cobie Smulders and Mark Ruffalo — will assemble on May 4, 2012. While we wait, let me know what you thought of the trailer by hitting with your comments to the right.
