Trailer Talk: ‘The Yellow Handkerchief’

— by SEAN GERSKI —

Maria Bello is one of my favorite actresses. I end up seeing just about every movie she makes. And Wiliam Hurt is capable of very strong work.

But while those two are the top-billed stars of “The Yellow Handkerchief,” they are not the actors this movie will be marketed around. No, that responsibility will fall on Kristen Stewart, star of the “Twilight” series.

“The Yellow Handkerchief” was made in 2007, but it hasn’t been released yet. However, like many other movies starring actors from the “Twilight” series, the film is getting a new lease on life. Whether fans of “Twilight” will be interested in a tale of unrequited love between “old people” is debatable, though.

The plot is as follows: A road trip through Louisiana transforms three strangers (Hurt, Stewart and Eddie Redmayne) who were originally brought together by their respective feelings of loneliness.

“The Yellow Handkerchief” will be released Feb. 12, 2010.

That movie doesn’t look too bad.

Three years on the shelf? That’s always a good sign!

I really like the three main cast-members, but it’s telling that they are releasing it in the post-Oscar eligibility deadspot.

Stewart and Bello are both very attractive.
