Jason Reitman’s film “Up in the Air” — which stars George Clooney, Vera Farmiga and Jason Bateman — was very well received by those who saw it at the Telluride Film Festival.
In fact, one person who saw the movie said Clooney’s performance is “Cary Grant crossed with Warren Beatty.” And Reitman’s direction has brought to mind Frank Capra and Billy Wilder in others. Extremely high praise on both counts. It will be interesting to see if the movie can live up to the hype.
The movie’s plot is as follows: Ryan Bingham (Clooney) is a corporate downsizing expert whose cherished life on the road is threatened just as he is on the cusp of reaching ten million frequent flyer miles and just after he’s met the frequent-traveler woman of his dreams.
“Up in the Air” is scheduled to be released Dec. 4.

My brother might enjoy this movie. He is a frequent flyer so he could most likely relate to the character in some ways.
There sure is a lot of hype for the movie.
