There are three movies coming out this year with the number 9 in the title, but the movie simply titled “9” was the only one to get the interesting release date of 09/09/09.
In honor of the movie’s release today, and with the time now being 9:09 a.m., we thought it would be fun to take a look at the animated short that inspired the full-length movie.
The Oscar-nominated short by Shane Acker includes several hidden elements relating to the world of animation (including the Pixar lamp). See how many you can spot.
The full-length version of the movie, also directed by Acker, stars the voices of Jennifer Connelly, John C. Reilly, Christopher Plaummer, Martin Landau, Crispin Glover and Elijah Wood. It is in theaters starting today.
It’s pretty cool, but I don’t really have any desire to see the full movie. Of the three “9” movies, this one is the lowest priority on my list.
