Did ‘Baby Spice’ Audition For Role of Lois Lane?

Emma Bunton, better known as Baby Spice, has told Britain’s Now Magazine that she was a contender for the role of Lois Lane in 2006’s “Superman Returns.”

“I was asked to go to a casting for ‘Superman Returns’,” Bunton said. “I met the director Bryan Singer and went to his house.”

Before hiring Kate Bosworth to play the role opposite Brandon Routh as Superman, Singer is said to have auditioned Keri Russell and Claire Danes.

Now, I know many were disappointed in Bosworth’s turn as the feisty reporter, but the thought of Baby Spice taking on the iconic role is not a pleasant one.

Honestly, I am hoping she is confused about which role she was auditioning for when she met with Singer. But considering how tight-lipped everyone has gotten in terms of the “Superman” franchise, I don’t think we will get a definitive answer any time soon.

    That would have been terrible.

I can’t help but wonder if Bosworth got the part because of a recomendation from Kevin Spacey. She has appeared in several movies with him both before and after SR. I thought she did a good job with the role she had to play. On the other hand, I don’t think Baby Spice would have been a good choice at all.
