Viggo Mortensen Leaves ‘Snow White’ … For Superman?

— by SHERICE ANTOINETTE —

Halleluiah! Viggo Mortensen has left the “Snow White and the Huntsman” project.

Don’t get me wrong, I enjoyed reading the “Huntsman” script, but the moment Kristen Stewart signed on, all hope for the film plummeted. And aside from poor casting choices, Relativity Media’s “The Brother’s Grimm: Snow White,” starring Julia Roberts, hits theaters months before Universal’s take on Snow White.

Insiders informed the Hollywood Reporter that talks between Mortensen and Universal dissolved when the actor asked for $8 million as well as gross participation. As negotiations were under way for “Huntsman,” Warner Bros. approached Viggo with a villainous role in the upcoming Superman film, “The Man of Steel.” My hunch is that if Mortensen does accept the part in “The Man of Steel” (which may or may not be General Zod), the studio behind “Inception” and “The Dark Knight,” both huge money makers, won’t balk at his asking price.

It is the photographer, Sean! I was mesmorized by that shot, wondering about the angle, lighting, etc. – and then read your comment. No wonder he can ask what he wants. He looks very interesting.

Definately would love to see him sign on for superman. Even if it is zod I am sure nolans/goyer can do the character differently then the reeve movies had him. Though I would love for him to be brainiac.
