Will Hugo Strange be in ‘The Dark Knight Rises’?

— by ANDY BEHBAKHT —

So far, Bane (Tom Hardy) and Selina Kyle/Catwoman (Anne Hathaway) are the only two confirmed villains for “The Dark Knight Rises,” Christopher Nolan’s final chapter in the Batman trilogy. But for a while now, another villain has been rumored to be part of the movie: Hugo Strange.

If the information in My Entertainment World is accurate, the bad doctor will indeed be in the film. The site lists the following synopsis for the movie:

DARK KNIGHT RISES, THE (aka MAGNUS REX & FOX HILLS GREEN) – Mid June, 2011 – India & London, UK & New York, NY & Pittsburgh, PA; Details Are only Available By Subscription.. STORY: As Batman deals with his new status as a wanted vigilante, Dr. Hugo Strange, a villainous psychiatrist, concocts a plan to destroy him and become the new Batman. (Posted: June 17, 2010. Revised: April 14, 2011)

If you are confused about the names “Magnus Rex” and “Fox Hills Green,” those are cover names the movie could shoot under to try to keep the set private.

I would be thrilled to see Bane and Hugo Strange working together to break the caped crusader – both mentally and physically. However, the part about Strange wanting to become the new Dark Knight made me suspicious — because that doesn’t feel like something Nolan would do. Hopefully, we’ll have get confirmation about this during Comic-Con or during an interview with Nolan.

“The Dark Knight Rises” is scheduled for a July 20, 2012, release. Let us know what you think by leaving your comments to the right. Do you want to see Hugo Strange in “The Dark Knight Rises”? And if so, who should play him?

I personally dont think we need a third villain, otherwise we will have to split screen time and story development between all 3 and wont get the best performance out of any of them.

Have we not learned from Spiderman 3?

Not going to happen. Marion Cotillard’s Miranda Tate will also be Talia Al Ghul. Why else cast Josh Peck as a young flashback Ra’s?
