Well, folks, thanks to the always fruitful combination of irresponsible snapshot-taking and rapid-fire internet communication, another batch of top-secret set photos from an upcoming highly anticipated blockbuster have made their way to your computer monitor.
The film? “Predators.” The photographer? Actor and UFC Fighter Oleg Taktarov — who plays a character named Nikolai in the Robert Rodriguez-produced/Nimrod Antal-directed effort.
Although little-to-nothing is known about the actual story content of the film — other than that it involves Predators and a serial killer played by Topher Grace (who can be seen in the last of the candid shots below) — the pics provide some dandy visual confirmation that the titular hunters will look suitably badass in the finished product.
Strangely though, I’m more impressed with the photo of Adrien Brody posing in full military garb. I expect the aliens to look cool — Lord knows, they’ve had four previous films to refine the look — but Brody looks buffed-up and tough enough to chew nails and crap out ball bearings. After all the loudly-voiced concerns over his casting, it’s nice to see that the actor seems to be really embracing his inner-Arnold and doing his best to transform himself into a more imposing screen presence. I can’t wait to see him go mano y mano with one — or dare I say two — of the big, green, pincer-mouthed lugs.
Doubtlessly, they’ll be more substantial “Predators” news coming down the pike shortly, but in the meantime we can at least take comfort in knowing that — barring superhuman incompetence and perhaps a dance scene or two — there’s no way in Hell that this flick will be worse than the last two “AvP” atrocities.
We have nowhere to go but up, people, and I can’t wait to get on the ride.
The remainder of the photos can be found at Reddit.

Topher Grace and Adrien Brody make me more interested in this than I might otherwise be (after the AvP movies).
