Eight ‘Cirque du Freak: The Vampire’s Assistant’ Clips

— by SEAN GERSKI —

The “Harry Potter” movies proved beyond a shadow of a doubt that there are a lot of young viewers who enjoy movies about magic.

And the “Twilight” movies are proving that there are just as many viewers who will head to the cinema for movies about vampires.

Whether those viewers prefer that magic be done only by the characters from the world of “Harry Potter” or their movie vampires to come solely from the realm of “Twilight” remains to be seen, however.

More will be known today, when “Cirque du Freak: The Vampire’s Assistant” arrives in theaters.

Directed by Paul Weitz, “Cirque du Freak: The Vampire’s Assistant” stars John C. Reilly, Salma Hayek, Chris Massoglia, Josh Hutcherson, Ray Stevenson, Ken Watanabe, Patrick Fugit, Willem Dafoe, Orlando Jones and Jane Krakowski.

To get you in the mood, we have eight clips from the movie:

IMO, the Harry Potter films are just ok. VERY overrated. And I Can’t stand the Twilight movies.

This looks too campy for my tastes. Yeah, more of the same.

    Ugh, Salma Hayek Can’t act.

I wished this looked better. I like both Harry Potter and Twilight, but this doesn’t look very good.

I’m definitely heading to the cinema to see this. It’s about time the main characters WANTS to be a vampire 😀 And magic as well? To cool not to see.

Dare I say it, but this actually doesn’t look as awful as I was expecting. The trailer makes it look like complete shit. And yeah, a couple of the bits in these clips made me cringe (acting cough Salma Hayek cough), a lot of it looked really good. This is coming from a die-hard fan of the books, by the way. So yeah, I might actually go see this when it comes out.
