If you are looking for originality, I don’t think “Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time” is going to be all that satisfying to you. But if an adventure flick along the lines of “The Mummy” movies is what you seek, then I have just the movie for you.
“Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time” features a very buff Jake Gyllenhaal … and a lot of sand.
Directed by Mike Newell, the movie looks like it looks like it could be epic … or fun … or stupid. As it stands, the trailer isn’t much to go by.
Anyway, here’s a description of the movie (via Trailer Addict): From the team that brought the “Pirates of the Caribbean” trilogy to the big screen, Walt Disney Pictures and Jerry Bruckheimer Films present “Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time,” an epic action-adventure set in the mystical lands of Persia. A rogue prince (Gyllenhaal) reluctantly joins forces with a mysterious princess and together, they race against dark forces to safeguard an ancient dagger capable of releasing the Sands of Time — a gift from the gods that can reverse time and allow its possessor to rule the world.
Starring Gyllenhaal, Gemma Arterton and Alfred Molina, the movie is scheduled to be released on May 28, 2010.

I am really hoping this will be good. I am sick of seeing horrible movies based off of games.
I don’t have much hope for this movie being better than average.
This looks… not good.
